TODAY’S WORD, THOUGHT AND PRAYER FOR VICTORY From Joel Osteen “God’s Dream for Your Life”

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.”

-Isaiah 55:8

We all have dreams and goals. We do our best to stretch our faith and believe that one day, if we work hard enough, get the right breaks or meet the right people, we’ll see that dream come to pass. In our mind, that would be big. A great accomplishment. But, what’s big to us is not big to God. He created the universe. He spoke worlds into existence. God’s dream for your life is so much bigger than your own. See, we think ordinary; God thinks extraordinary!

Today, whatever you’re dreaming about, whatever you’re believing for, know that God’s dream for your life is far greater. He wants to supersize it. He’s an overflow God. Ephesians says, “God can do exceedingly, abundantly above and beyond what we think.” Why don’t you take the limits off of God? You may not see a way, but God has a way. One touch of God’s favor can take you further than you could go on your own in a lifetime. Be open to God’s dream for your life and embrace the fullness of the blessing He has in store for you!

Father, thank You for loving me and having such a wonderful plan for my life. Help me to see the great things You have for me. Show me Your love today as I keep my heart and mind stayed on You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Fabulous Forties Gala

On the evening of July 26th, 2014, the Wyndham Grand Downtown Pittsburgh Hotel was the site of a fabulous event saluting the fabulous 1940s. The Fabulous Forties Gala and Fashion Show, benefiting the Homeless Children’s Education Fund.

Hollywood glamour and vintage style awaited the gala’s guests at the Fabulous Forties Gala and Retro Fashion Show as Dame’s and Fella’s were transported to an era of retro fashion and old Hollywood style, while raising funds for a fabulous organization, the aforementioned Homeless Children’s Education Fund. Whether they were partaking in the VIP dinner in the hotel’s Sky Lounge, and/or attending the gala’s festivities, all of the evening’s guests enjoyed the sights and sounds of the fabulous forties, as well as danced the night away to Pittsburgh’s own Boilermaker Jazz Band! The event’s guests also enjoyed a 1940s themed fashion show as some of the Pittsburgh area’s “Glamorous” Gals (Models) hit the runway in the fashion show. The gala’s evening was topped off with performances by the gala’s emcee’s Dan Burda of Studio RAW, and Dr. Shellie Hipsky. And some of the gala’s guests left with some amazing prizes and silent auction items!

TODAY’S WORD, THOUGHT AND PRAYER FOR VICTORY From Joel Osteen “Identify With Him”

Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

-2 Corinthians 5:17

So many people fall into the trap of identifying with their challenges instead of identifying with Christ. For example, you may be dealing with a sickness, but understand, you are not a sick person trying to get well. You are a well person fighting off sickness. You may be struggling in your finances, but you’re not a poor person trying to get ahead. You’re a successful person fighting off poverty. You may be struggling with an addiction. You’ve had it many years. Don’t see yourself as an addict. Don’t let that image become ingrained on the inside. You are not an addicted person trying to get free. You are a free person fighting off an addiction.

Remember, in Christ you are a new creature. The old has passed away. Don’t let it cling to you! Identify with Christ and embrace the freedom and victory He has for you!

Father, today I choose to identify with Your Son, Jesus, who came so that I could have abundant life. Thank You for making all things new. I trust that You are at work in my life and declare that I am healthy, whole and strong in Jesus’ name. Amen.

SUNDAY’S WORD, THOUGHT AND PRAYER FOR VICTORY From Joel Osteen “Exactly What You Need”

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

-Philippians 4:19

Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed by the challenges and obstacles we face. But, we have to remember that God equips for every season of life. God will not allow you to face Goliath, He will not allow a major challenge and then just give you a little favor, a little strength, a little wisdom. No, God equips you with exactly what you need to overcome every obstacle. What you have in your hand may not seem like much, but remember, David had victory with only five small stones!

Know today that you have been empowered to accomplish every dream that God has placed in your heart. Oftentimes, the reason you have a huge obstacle is because you have a huge future. You may be facing a big challenge, but you’re a big person serving a big God. Know that no matter what you face, God will meet your needs. You are equipped, you are empowered, and you are headed toward victory in every area of your life!

Father, thank You for meeting my needs according to Your riches in glory. I shake off heaviness today. I shake off worry and doubt, and I put on a garment of praise knowing that You are working things out for my good in Jesus’ name. Amen.

With the Jason Aldean concert at PNC Park, European Soccer (or Football) with AC Milan playing against Manchester City at Heinz Field, the Steelers — Who call Heinz Field home — starting their annual training camp at St. Vincent’s College in Latrobe, the Pirates on the west coast continuing their pursuit of bringing a National League Division Title back to Pittsburgh for the first time since 1992, the Pittsburgh Power Arena Football team at CONSOL Energy Center playing their final regular season match of the 2014 regular season against the Philadelphia Soul, one week before they play in their first-ever playoff game next week; the Pittsburgh Passion Women’s Football team looking to win another Women’s Football World Championship, the Fabulous Forties Gala/Fashion Show at the Wyndham Grand Downtown Pittsburgh Hotel (an event in which Yours Truly be covering/photographing), and the annual running of the world-renowned Adios Pace for the Orchids at The Meadows Racetrack in Washington County (south of Pittsburgh), there is absolutely no doubt that this weekend is more filled with such exciting things to do right here in Pittsburgh…… And then there’s this! Robert Hester Entertainment, and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, proudly presenting to you another exciting edition of Digging With Doug Oster!

This week, the world’s best (and exciting) gardening supergenius will plant some more vegetables for a Fall harvest, go upside down with some Strawberries, and talk about a garden of straw!

So make your weekend in the ‘Burgh, or wherever you are, even more exciting by joining in on the D.W.D. fun! And of course, please feel free to join in on the D.W.D. fun by prouldly saying six words that always define D.W.D. fun………. TEACH ME HOW-TO….. DOUGIE O!!!!!!!

TODAY’S WORD, THOUGHT AND PRAYER FOR VICTORY From Joel Osteen “Mustard-Seed Faith”

If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the see’ and it will obey you.

-Luke 17:6

A mustard seed is a very small thing. But when it’s planted, it grows into a huge tree. In the same way, Jesus is saying in this verse that a little bit of faith can bring tremendous results!

Think about this: As a believer, you already have enough faith on the inside of you to overcome any obstacle. It doesn’t matter if you grew up in church or not; it doesn’t matter what you know or don’t know; God wants to work in your life today. You may not see how things will work out, and that’s okay. All you have to do is believe God. With God, all things are possible!

Today, put your faith into action by declaring that your trust and hope are in Him. Thank Him for working behind the scenes in your life. Use your mustard-seed faith, and it will go stronger and stronger. Always remember, you have everything you need when you have mustard-seed faith!

Father, thank You for mustard-seed faith. Thank You for equipping me to live in total victory. I choose to trust You, knowing that You have good things in store for my future in Jesus’ name. Amen.
